Therapeutic consultation in Psychology (LCSW) is a professional consultation service performed by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that is designed to assist individuals and supporters with implementing the person-centered ISP when psychiatric symptoms pose a barrier to success.
The service includes:
Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Assessment,
Data collection for baseline mental health symptoms and changes over time,
Frequent collaboration with team members.
Development of a Psychological Support Plan,
Teaching family members, caregivers, and other providers to support the individual’s mental health needs using targeted interventions.
**Please note: Therapeutic consultation is not therapy. It is an indirect service to assist supporters in better meeting individuals’ mental health needs that are interfering with achievement of Desired Outcomes.
The individual may receive psychotherapy, Mental Health Skill Building, and/or other behavior services with Therapeutic Consultation in Psychology.
